Dog Days in Preveza

It has to be said.  Flying back to Greece is a lot less fun than driving here in a Transit Van.
It’s so hot here that the sorbet seller has given it up as a bad job and gone on holiday.  So we set about sanding her bottom, polishing her sides and generally scrubbing her up, jobs which can only be contemplated between 0600 and 1000 and we’re not that keen on being up before 7.  After 3 days of this Jon has a raging thirst, so we manage to get her launched, away from our favourite boatyard and across to Preveza town quay.  There are still test to be done, autopilot to calibrate and compass to be swung, but if all goes well and the weather holds we will be setting off to Italy in a couple of days time.  Otherwise we will sit somewhere near Paxos and wait, full of optimism, for a suitable weather window.
